Hello everyone! I watched a video of a Blaan cultural dance and I would like to share my reaction.
The video features dancing Blaan women. First, I really like the music. The sounds in the video made it a very exciting dance. When you hear the music, it makes you also want to dance with them.
I also like their hand gestures when they dance. They move around, make graceful turns while swaying their hips. It is nice to see them enjoying the dance. I know everyone will enjoy this Blaan Dance.
Also, I want to share my experience about this. When I was in Kindergarten, I remember during that time, I participated in a similar dance. I wore black long sleeves, not too fit, but loose and this was paired with black pants. There was also a “malong,” a traditional colorful cloth wrapped around my body. I also had something in my head and I don’t know what it was called but it was composed of colorful beads.
I don’t remember much of it anymore because it was a long time ago but the video made me think of that.
Back to the video, I really like the costumes. I like the designs because it is very colorful. It was woven from abaca and decorated with embroided buttons, beads and heavy brass belts with numerous tiny bells that kept sounding when they move a little bit or even when hey walked. I think these are worn by the women of the Blaan community. What they wear is part of their culture as well.
I’m very proud of them especially to the Blaan women who are making a difference in this generation. The Blaan are beautiful people. They are nice. They are friendly to those who make friends with them. They are also passionate about their cultures and traditionss.
Lastly, I love how they smile. To all Blaan people and to their community, I am proud of all of you because you know how to communicate well towards other people. You know how to respect and be respected also and all of you are very kind, generous, and hardworking people. #
